Hospice Seeking ‘Friends’

Hospice of Chesterfield County has started a “Friends of Hospice” initiative to help raise funds to meet the growing needs for hospice care in Chesterfield and Marlboro counties. As a community-based, non-profit organization, Hospice of Chesterfield County maximizes its resources to provide the highest quality and compassionate care to our area’s terminally ill residents. In the past 10 years, Hospice of Chesterfield County’s patient care days have increased 240% from 5,428 to 18,458. This increase in the utilization of our services has also resulted in an increase in the amount of indigent care we provide. "Trees of Celebration"

Hospice of Chesterfield County held its annual "Trees of Celebration" lighting service on Sunday, Dec. 2nd. Many gathered to hear over 1,800 names read in honor and in memory of their loved ones and friends. The lights will remain lit until December 28th. Chesterfield County School District's Teacher of the Year

Each year, South Carolina Future Minds coordinates state recognition activities for the Teachers of the Year from South Carolina’s 82 school districts. The activities are funded through donations from various businesses and community support groups so that no local school district funds are spent on these activities. We are pleased to announce that Chesterfield County School District’s 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year, Emalee Spencer, is being sponsored through generous donations from Hospice of Chesterfield County and Springhill Assisted Living.
