Seven Area Residents Complete Volunteer Training

Seven area residents recently completed Hospice of Chesterfield County’s volunteer training program. The 15-hour course was held July 12 – 20 at Hospice of Chesterfield County’s office in Chesterfield. Those completing the course include: Bonnie Jean Black and Carolyn F. Russell of Cheraw, Tammy Griffin of Chesterfield, Alice Hunter of Pageland, Joe Martin McDaniel of Patrick, Verlinda J. Bass of Bennettsville and Alice V. Z. Harrison of Morven. Hospice Seeking ‘Friends’

Hospice of Chesterfield County has started a “Friends of Hospice” initiative to help raise funds to meet the growing needs for hospice care in Chesterfield and Marlboro counties. As a community-based, non-profit organization, Hospice of Chesterfield County maximizes its resources to provide the highest quality and compassionate care to our area’s terminally ill residents. In the past 10 years, Hospice of Chesterfield County’s patient care days have increased 240% from 5,428 to 18,458. This increase in the utilization of our services has also resulted in an increase in the amount of indigent care we provide. Twenty Years of Service Publication

Next year will mark twenty years of service for Hospice of Chesterfield County.  To commemorate this event, hospice is preparing a publication that will honor and celebrate those we’ve served through the years.
